Community is at the centre of everything that the NSVT does and participants are encouraged to share their experiences in order to build our collective knowledge and maximise the value that can be delivered for communities.

The NSVT is an inclusive organisation and welcomes all organisations and individuals who share our vision and wish to contribute to the overall success of our goals and objectives.

Getting Involved

Over the next 3 years, the NSVT will be focused on delivering the Social Value Economy and there are two ways to contribute to its success.

  • Join our Community of Practice & become Community Member. This is the starting membership of the Movement, open to any individual or organisation who wants to get involved. Community Members can access some of the benefits associated with access to learning, best practice and knowledge exchange.

  • Advocate Members / Members of The National Social Value Taskforce. For businesses and individuals who are prepared to give up their time to get involved in driving the agenda forward. This will require each member to play an active role in delivering meaningful progress in advancing social value through committing to the 6 pledges and participating in the most relevant Working or Regional Group(s). This group will guide the delivery of the Social Value Economy

  • Working Groups. Anyone can get involved in one or two working groups to help push the agenda along. You will need to apply via one of the co-chairs or sign up via the attached survey form

For a Community Member to also become an Advocate Member / a Member of the National Social Value Taskforce, they will need to be part of a Working/Regional Group for 3 months minimum, with a proven record of contributing to the Working Group. They will let that group’s Chair(s) know that they want to be an Advocate Member and the group’s Chair will bring this to the Steering Committee who will then decide.

Meetings and activities

  • Webinars. These will be held regularly by our members and advertised on the CoP Events Calendar. Sign up and get involved.

  • Working Group Meetings. Working groups will meet as required to take their topic forward, supported by the Taskforce. Working Groups will own specific TF commitments and be expected to deliver against agreed OKRs.

  • Taskforce Meetings. There will be 4 Taskforce meetings per year – open to Advocate Members – the Chairs of the Working Groups will be expected to take a leading role in these discussions. These will focus on the activities taking place to deliver the Social Value Economy. These sessions will be held online.

  • Regional Group Meetings. Meetings to be managed as appropriate and decided by local chairs who may invite representatives from the TF to support them as required from time to time.

  • Networking Events. We will have at least 2 in-person events per year – these will be voluntary and will provide an opportunity for members to network. One of the networking events will be the annual Social Value Conference.

How do you want to get involved?

Everyone is welcome - we are building a movement - but if you want to get more involved, then you should consider joining a Working Group.

There are no rules, except we do ask that you do not surf the CoP as if it is a sales or recruitment tool and anyone flouting these rules will be asked to refrain or kindly leave the CoP.

You can get involved by filling out the survey linked below. This survey has been designed to help us understand how you and your organisation want to work across sectors in the spirit of radical collaboration to deliver the social value economy.
